Whether crowning the Pyramids or carpeting the Ramblas of Barcelona, snow has made its fair share of surprise appearances. Lately, the timing or the magnitude of snowfall often results in more than just a freak event, but rather in a genuine disaster. All in stark contrast to the warm Finnish winters of recent times. Gone are the days of white Christmas. Our skis lie in the basement, deserted and depressed.
Snow is not the only element in confusion. Whole seasons seem not to know whether they're coming or going, lashing out in floods and heatwaves. Who can really blame them? With climate shifting all across the planet, and so fast, no wonder they have lost their way. No wonder they have gone astray.
"Stray Seasons" is a show that combines various performance arts, from music to spoken word and theatre, in order to contemplate what is happening with the seasons we know... well, used to know. A show that laments the loss, that ponders on the whys, and most of all, that dreams of how to make things right. How to take the lonely skis out for a stroll. A show that dreams of seasons finding their way back home.
